which is an anniversary tradition weve had for many of our 34 years married!

The train ride was about 4.5 hours and was a scenic ride from the water through the mountains heading to the Seward town port. It was windy, foggy and cold and what we thought was possibly going to be a cold cruise…but we were surprised to learn later that the bext few days to follow would turn out to be amazingly sunny and highs from the upper 60s to mid 70s!

We had met some folks that just left the previous ship who experienced a foggy view of the glacier, but we were able to see this amazing sight!

Cruise to Alaska Icy Strait Point (aka Hoona) 8am to 5pm

This small fishing village is known as hoona, It was a busy salmon cannery back in the early 1900’s and now a cute fishing village that survives on fishing and tourism. Lots of little gift shops!

Cruise to Alaska, Skagway 6am to 7pm

A town that was made famous as back in 1895 was the entrance to the Klondike and the gold stampede from 1897 to 1899,
We visited the Old Brothel, and took a tour…supposedly haunted of the upstairs section that included a still in tacked room of a worker and the madam of the house.

We had and awesome lunch at a brewery of halibut fish and chips then attended a off broadway musical of “It happened in 98”. Really cute play with 4 actors who did a fantastic job recreating an incident that became world famous of the beginning of the end of the gold rush.

Took a last minute excursion to visit a santuary to see bears in a natural habitat, Saw some cute bear cubs with their moms! Then enjoyed shopping and walking around town that has a salmon bridge through town.

Day at Sea
Enjoyed our final day hanging out with new friends and recapping our trip favorites. We all were fortunate to have amazing
weather as well as a smaller passenger count. The was the final sail to alaska for this ship as it will head to the hawaiian islands for a while.

Alaska to Vancouver BC
Check in luggage from the ship to shore and discover Vancouver from a hop on hop off bus.
Walked stanley Park and saw some neat spots in the city!
Flight to Seattle
Stay at Red lion
Drive to Central Oregon
Over all our first Alaska visit was filled with great weather, lots of great meals on and off the ship! Lots of Native culture ia all around to experience in our 49th State!
As i write this we are enjoying or favorite place to stay in Puerto Vallarta MX!
